My Grandmother

Grandmother your memories make me smile,

The melodious voice of your’s still resonates in my mind,

You were so full of love and care,

I often remember you in my prayer,

My heart yearned for your warm embrace,

Losing someone special is so hard to bear,

I always wished that it wasn’t real,

Indeed death hath snatched you away from me!

For death is the reality which we all are aware,

It is the destination we all share,

Immortal life and glory where grief is no longer there,

Allah the Almighty took you in His care,

Having a hope we will meet again in paradise,

Soon we will be re-united in afterlife (InshaAllah).
