Cold Eyes

Icy eyes and it’s long stare,

Unmoved,cold devoid of care,

A heart wrapped in layers of ice,

No words are said to empathise,

No hope lingers in frosty cold air,

All comfort and cheer is verily gone,

A heart full of love now turned to stone,

Cold stare that pierce the darkest night,

Pierce the soul with all its might,

The owners of  pretty cheerful face,

Robs them off put them to disgrace,

Turned sweet to sour with their eyes severe,

Pitiless to women, men sighing like furnace,

Jealous in honour quick in quarrel,

Unaware of woman’s longing and pain,

O Allah give fairer creatures mental repose,

For You only embrace the crowd of sorrows,

In Your love they find ultimate solace!

  1. An eloquent and timely reminder to be empathetic. Though it is quite often men who are given to harshness, being cold and unsympathetic is a human failing. May Allah soften all our hearts, and embolden us to bridge divides.

  2. Yes very true. Let’s work on ourselves so that this is not our description.
