Allah, My Lord

Your pure love is engraved in my heart,

Mercy and generosity are your attributes i yearn for,

In the darkest hours you gave me patience,

My soul clungs firmly to you as you have never left me forsaken,

For you took me from darkness to light,

I want to attain nearness to the divine light,

A weak and wretched sinner though I may be,

My trembling heart beats for thee,

Whilst thou forgive my sins and hasten to relieve my heart!

For mercy is an attribute of God (droppeth as a gentle rain from heavens),

O acceptor of repentance,

Your mercy prevails over Your wrath,

So make my future better than my past,

O Lord of the seven heavens and The Magnificent throne, illuminate me with Your grace,

On judgment day under Your shade, give me a resting place!

Ceaselessly remembering you through endeavour, toil, abstinence and prayer,

Wishing that You give me the highest ranks of paradise and protection from hellfire (Aameen)
