Fasting

O thou who want to gain celestial happiness,

Pleasures abound, bliss unended,

So fast ’cause fasting is protection,

Hell or devils had no power on humans,

In ramadan they are locked or imprisoned,

So God will pity us, if we repent,

With parched lips and body withered,

We remember Allah,The Lord of Heavens,

Quran descended in this month of abundance,

A heavenly gift and radiant essence,

If pangs of hunger,makes us impatient

Allah provides us with contentment,

The bond with our Maker surely strengthens,

Angels deliver salams to, those who do supplications,

Here a night equals, a month of thousand!

Focus and just increase your devotion,

When minarets resounded the call for adhaan,

From which muezzin’s voice,broke through horizon,

Allahu-Akbar a sacred invocation,

Humbly we remember our Lord with emotions,

In ramadan people purified their feelings,

O Allah forgive muslims in their wrong actions,

We are patient though deprived and burdened,

Don’t make us selfish and arrogant,

You dominate our thoughts and feelings,

Deviate us from abode of vanity,

Progress us towards everlasting happiness.Aameen
